Operation Sponsors and Partners
The Irish Sea Portal Pilot Operation has been funded by the European Regional Development fund through the Ireland Wales Co-operation Programme 2014 – 2020. A cross-border programme investing in the overall economic, environmental and social well-being of Ireland and Wales.
The Operation is a cross-border partnership between Bangor University (Centre for Applied Marine Science, CAMS) and Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM). The ISPP Operation has been developed between BU and BIM in Ireland following close interactions with shellfish SMEs and engagement with other key stakeholders.
Both BIM and CAMS have extensive experience in working with industry. BIM is the aquaculture development Agency in Ireland with strong links to SMEs and with an established training division linked to HEIs and includes the Seafood Development Centre in Clonakilty, which is set up to provide access for SMEs to new technologies. At Bu, CAMS has embedded working with industry over several recent projects such as the structurally funded SEACAMS project, which is dedicated to assisting business in the Wales area.
